This ‘White musk Midnight Iris’ collection which is a contemporary, opulent interpretation of the classic white musk features enchanting notes of irresistible orris, bergar not an water lily. “White Musk Iris is a classic White Musk sensuality special edition fragrance range created especially for the autumn-winter season. It features naturally derived ingredients with a top note of bergar not and water lily creating an initial sensation of glowing fragrance. The scent then builds to a deeper velvety heart of muguet (lily of the valley), clary sage and orris which gives the feeling of soothing, downy softness. Finally it settles upon the sensuous base notes of musk, sandalwood and Tonka bean enhancing the expression of enveloping cocoon. This exquisite fragrance can be enjoyed across an exclusive range of four products. The white musk midnight iris eau de toilette, the chiffon sheer body mist, the velvet shimmer body lotion and the sumptuous silk shower gel. One thing to be taken care of is that if you want long lasting effect of these sensuous fragrances then apply all four products together in a layering regime as you cleanse, moisturize, spritz and spray. Known for their discerning and enigmatic prints in contemporary saris, Satya Paul has always been a name synonymous with the ‘unconventional’. The forte clearly seems to churning out vibrant prints to bring out the aesthetics and showing the world that India can produce clothing that is minus the rich handcrafted embroidery but equally coveted and perhaps even more globally viable and appealing. For pre-Fall, there is a new story. It’s baptized as ‘Maya’. Designer Puneet Nanda interprets ‘the love for money’ in a more wearable way and suggests it as the look of the season. Puneet Nanda for Satya Paul has been a successful association so far and with this one, Puneet hopes to touch new sales figures! “Maya is Kaleidoscopic Color! It is my interpretation of contemporary fashion courting glamour and fantasy in the form of colorful patterns on saris and garments”, explained the young and vibrant designer. Puneet is primarily a self-taught artist whose understanding spans multiple genres; from art to music to design.
Talking about the fabrics and techniques used, Puneet enlisted, “I take every theme as an unusual experiment and experience. Maya is just the perfect combination of appealing textures and design elements. The fabrics used are satin in burnout effect, premium georgettes and crepes, jacquard and like. We have also employed digital printing.” An experimental flair, use of myriad colors and patterns make up Maya. Ornamental designs, layers, shadows and contrasting elements render Maya a bold graphic look. Puneet also suggests bold and innovative ways to drape the conventional sari in novel ways to bring about the design sense of pieces in Maya. “The sari must be draped in a manner that can reveal the best form of a woman. The style of the draping depends upon the occasion, as for weddings, it is usually traditional drapes as against a cocktail reception where one can experiment with interesting drapery.”
